The CL Wrestling Club website is back! We are now using some exciting new Web 2.0 platforms. Google Blogger is our new website host, SmugMug is hosting our photos and videos and we'll be using Twitter to broadcast events in real-time during meets this season!

Coach Rutowski started the Center Line Wrestling team in the fall of 1965. Coach Gretz soon joined the wrestling program in 1970. The two worked together and led the Center Line Wrestling Winning Tradition for 30+ years to become the most successful athletic program in CL History

The tradition continues with class of 1996 alumni Dave Anderson who took over as CLHS Wrestling Head Coach in 2005. Dave faced a very tough challenge to rebuild the once great program and strong wrestling tradition. At the end of the 04/05 season, the team was on the brink of being canceled. Dave started the 2005 season with just 5 returning wrestlers. Former teammates and 1996 alumni, Tom McGough and Ken Snyder, volunteered and assisted Dave during his first few years rebuilding the program. Paul Kempesty (1996 alumni) joined the team as the new Assistant Coach in 2007. Zac Bollinger (2007 alumni) continues the alumni assistant coaching tradition by assisting with the high school and middle school wrestling programs.

The team has come a long way in a few short years by progressing from bottom of the league in 05/06 to finishing the 07/08 season as the league champions. The team made a strong run to repeat but after a hard fought close defeat they finished as league runner up in 08/09. Dave and the team are committed to continue the winning tradition in 09/10 season!
